Former Employee Filed Whistleblower Complaint About Abbott’s Sturgis Facility Eight Months Prior To It Being Publicized By The Media.

A former Abbott Nutrition employee filed a complaint against the firm’s plant in Sturgis, Michigan, with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration in February 2021, months before the news was made public, according to CNN’s source.

The objection was recorded February 16, 2021, and was given to Abbott and the US Food and Drug Administration three days after the fact, the source said.

The news was first detailed Wednesday by the Wall Street Journal, which likewise said the informant was ended in August 2020 and recorded a segregation objection with Michigan OSHA soon after.

Abbott presented a proper reaction to the February objection in April 2021, as per reports and an anonymous source, the Journal said. The informant then recorded a grievance with the FDA in October 2021 that developed the wellbeing claims submitted in the February question, the Journal revealed.

 

The October 2021 objection was delivered in late April by US Rep. Rosa DeLauro, who referred to its charges as “incredibly upsetting.”
